(Disable NetBIOS, only, if you do not use PCAFS or share files using Netbios/SMB(windoes shares).

1. Go to the Control Panel (Start->Settings->Control Panel or Start->Control Panel)
   


2. Right-click on "Network and Dial-up Connections" and choose Properties



3. For each connection shown:
   
   • Right click on the connection and choose Properties
     
   • In the "Components checked are used by this connection" highlight "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)"
     
     
     
     
   • Click the Properties button
     
   • Click the Advanced button
     
   • Click the WINS tab
     
   • Change the radio button at the bottom to "Disable NetBIOS over TCP/IP"
     
     
     
     
   • Click OK on all open dialog boxes
     
     
4. Repeat step 3 for all connections listed in "Network and Dial-up Connections"
   
   
5. Restart your computer.
